Q:

I am a Buddhist. How do I accumulate a lot of karmic merit? Thank you.

A:

If you do not realise that living on this earth is a form of suffering then all your collected merit will remain within the birth-death cycle. Everyone needs merits to live a peaceful life but concisely speaking, the greatest merit is to study the Dhamma texts and to live with Right Mindfulness, constantly analysing our thoughts and actions, knowing good vs bad and to understand the law of cause-effect of all things in life, by which they are always formed and always resolved. Once you understand that then you will love everything in life and have no attachments or wants. You will live in compassion and wisdom - two foundations of karmic merit. Best wishes.
